We’re delighted to share reports of Disgruntled Brewing’s death are more than greatly exaggerated--- they’re totally false! After the brewery announced last winter that it would be brewing its last beer in May 2022, craft beer lovers throughout lakes started stewing. No one wanted the well-loved brewery to close. Afterall, “Grumpy” serves up good beer!
Luckily for the craft beer crowd, and all of us that enjoy a fun evening out with friends, Disgruntled Brewing is back and ready to growl. The brewery has new owners, -- that’s us! -- Goose Group, Inc. We’re committed to keeping all that you love about Disgruntled and adding a few new ideas that might get you grinning in grumpy fashion.
You’ll see lots of familiar faces about the brewery, and Disgruntled’s brew masters will soon be finishing up batches of what we think you’ll find will be four new favorites always available:
· Red Barn, our Amber lager;
· Otter Ale Bounty, a malty aroma in a polished brown ale;
· Allegiance, our American Style IPA; and
· Perspective, our bright blonde ale.
Disgruntled will also be serving up creative sours, other craft masterpieces of flavor, fabulous new seltzers, and non-alcoholic drinks. We’ll also be adding new food options that fit a brewery. Peanuts are already there!
You can help us by sending word out to your favorite food truck to give us a call. We’re also seeking to feature a variety of musicians on a regular basis. Tell your neighbor at the lake who’s awesome on the acoustic guitar to come talk to us. And board game days are going to be a real thing.
We at Goose Group, Inc. believe we all benefit when a town is vibrant and strong.That’s why we choose to keep trying to grow small town businesses and nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.In this century, it’s easier to be a thriving town in Minnesota if you offer a brewery to help attract and retain employees, residents, and tourists alike.We hope you join us in helping keep a local masterpiece up and running. Afterall, Grumpy is pretty darn good!
The more DISGRUNTLED THE BREWERY, the better THE BREW.
Well hidden in the north woods of Perham, Disgruntled Brewery is home to one grumpy brewery, and countless great beers. Disgruntled Brewing’s formula is simple: Combine our slightly gruff, admittedly never-quite-satisfied brewery staff, the world’s best ingredients, and then stand back and marvel as we produce one great beer after another.
This is craft brewing set in a beautiful part of the state—a destination well worth the trip—love at first taste. One taste and you’ll know this is Midwest brewing at its finest—skilled & artful. The kind of Midwest craft brewing that’s drawing attention worldwide. Beer-flavored water from St. Louis, Missouri this is not.
180 miles north of the Twin Cities and 65 miles east of Fargo may look like a strange place to brew great beer at first blush, but tiny (Pop. 3,000) Perham MN loves to make it happen.It’s grumpy with a grin. Find Disgruntled Brewing at 735 2nd Street NE, Perham.
Writing, Acting & Loving Retirement
Perham’s very own Chuck Johnson, past Economic Development Director for the City and former editor of the Perham Focus is busy doing what he loves in retirement. He's writing and acting.
In his most recent work, The Night Before Gettysburg, he imagines the thoughts Lincoln pondered the night before Lincoln’s famous address. Johnson’s work has brought him wide acclaim. He recently was asked to perform the three-act play in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to honor the President and mark the 159th Anniversary of the Gettysburg battle. Johnson performed the play 8 times over the course of 4 days and received outstanding feedback and acclaim. Johnson shared, “had a bump in the opener, but got past it. Evening performance went exceptionally well.” Johnson shared he enjoys the chance to mingle with people afterwards and getting the feedback.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see Johnson perform live! Chuck Johnson will be performing his play in Perham on Thursday, July 28th, 7pm at the Old Perham High School Auditorium.
